The former Leicester City man was pivotal in helping France win the World Cup in Russia.
But why serving his national duties for France, rumors milled about claiming Parisians Paris Saint-Germain were keen on luring the talisman away from Stamford Bridge.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, it was claimed Paris Saint-Germain were ready to spend big on acquiring his services, after Catalans Barcelona aimed at bringing on Adrien Rabiot.

Paris Saint-Germain’s director of football Antero Henrique is an avid admirer of the midfield enforcer and is claimed to have been willing to pull all stops to bring Kante to Parc des Princes this summer.
Chelsea already suffered a blow when a frustrated Thibaut Courtois left for Real Madrid. And could have been dealt another if winger Willian and playmaker Eden Hazard had left the outfit.
Despite Paris Saint-Germain rapping about signing the player, Chelsea is understood to have batted away advanced from the club and remained adamant, insisting they will not give up the French international.

Kante has three years left on his contract at the club, and they are fears that if Paris Saint-Germain decides to raid the club in January, he could give in to their tantalizing offer.
But French outlet L’Equipe has claimed that the Frenchman is raring to extend his contract with the Blues.
