Chelsea in danger of losing £120,000-a-week midfielder to European giants

AC Milan is targeting a January swoop for Cesc Fabregas, who has struggled to break into Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven, but the midfielder did start the new season sidelined with a knee problem.

The Italian manager has yet to call the Spaniard into a matchday squad, with the midfielder’s only appearance so far this season coming in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City.

AC Milan is now tracking Cesc Fabregas, and the Serie A giants feel they are in pole position to land the playmaker. Corriere dello Sport claims Milan have been chasing the World Cup winner since his Arsenal days and have seen multiple moves for his signature fail.


Euro giants duo did some transfer business in the summer when Tiemoue Bakayoko joined the Serie A side on a season-long loan, who could make that switch permanent next summer, and Italian outfit are hopeful of using their good working relationship with Chelsea to sign Fabregas this January.

Cesc Fabregas’ Chelsea deal expires at the end of this summer, and he will be free to speak to other clubs after December. Maurizio Sarri has played N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, and Jorginho in midfield so far this term, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek warming the bench as cover and Ross Barkley featuring time by time.
