Concerning reports have surfaced in recent days making extravagant claims that Real Madrid is preparing to offer Chelsea a combined fee of £200m to sign Eden Hazard AND N'Golo Kante!
It's been quiet on the blog lately as I have decided to have a holiday, just like our board of directors and Roman Abramovich this summer as we sit and wait for news on whether Antonio Conte will stay on as manager in the final year of his contract or, if as predicted by the press, Maurizio Sarriwill come in and take over.

In saying that, these reports of Hazard and Kante being the subject of a massive bid have caught my eye and all of us should be worried right now. The reason? The lure of Real Madrid and if Sarri takes over with numerous reports talking of how he wants to revamp the playing squad (check out the other article posted at the same time as this one after you finish reading this / posting your comments), the massive fee being quoted could assist Chelsea into buying as many as FIVE or SIX new players.
As with any other Chelsea fan on the planet, we sincerely hope that the reports are pure speculation and just the media coming up with a story because as I have said already, there isn't much to talk of officially from Chelsea so far this summer.
We have read reports earlier in the week that Eden Hazard was prepared to REJECT a reported new contract offer from Chelsea of a whopping £340,000 per week. The same article also states that Real Madrid are more than confident of signing the Belgian because he has made it clear that he wants to leave Chelsea having spent six years at our club. Real Madrid believes that they can get their man with an offer of around £105-£115m.
As for N'Golo Kante a different source this week has made a claim that the French midfielder has given Madrid the green light to approach Chelsea with a bid this summer because he would welcome a move to Spain. The report states that Real Madrid believe that they can get their second major signing from Chelsea tied up for a deal of around £70m but, I think they will need to pay much more than that as it seems that Real Madrid is not the only club eyeing a potential move for Kante.

So what do you Chelsea fans reading this post think of the continued speculation of the future of Eden Hazard and now N'Golo Kante? Do you think they would BOTH be willing to stay at Chelsea without Champions League football? Do you think the lure of Madrid would be too much to ignore and if given the opportunity for big money would move?
If they are both sold then how on earth do you replace them? That's the biggest problem for me right now because I am struggling to find players that are so influential on that football pitch elsewhere that could come in and do the same job.
Let's not get too carried away with ourselves here because it's important to remember that we had influential players before these two and I am sure that there will be plenty more in the future, but you have to admit that at the moment, they are few and far between.
Let's hope the club can convince them to stay, to regroup in pre-season and really go for it this year no matter who is in charge. If Chelsea are to be successful again the likes of Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante must not be sold!
